Today was field trip day to Windsor Castle, Bath, and Stonehenge. We woke up to strong winds, snow and cold. Our tour guide and bus driver told us this is the coldest March in Great Britain in 50 years, oh boy!
Windsor Castle is huge, with several hundred rooms covering 17 acres! It is also very close to Heathrow and planes are coming and going constantly. I'm surprised Her Majesty isn't bothered by this but apparently she's not as they told us this is one of her favorite residences.
Bath is a fascinating place and we enjoyed our time there. And, we got to see the hill made famous by Phil Collins - Salisbury Hill.
Finally, Stonehenge, which sits out in a field by itself just off a side road and not far from a major motorway (what we would call a highway). Although it was exciting to be there it was very cold, very wet and very windy, bleh!
