running out of juice...or...the batteries are low

The funmeter has moved out of the redzone for awhile. After a couple of fun and frantic weeks of winning tickets and attending concerts, life has taken a step or two back.

Last week I had to go to town to rescue Megan. She had left her car lights on in the morning and returned after class at noon to find a car with a really dead battery. I drove down to the light rail station, calling AAA on the way, and sat with her until the battery guy came. I followed her home to make sure she got there OK. She did.

Yesterday as I started the van to go to the grocery store, it sounded a little sluggish - so I wasn't totally surprised that it wouldn't start at all this morning. Dead battery. Another call to AAA, I love those guys, and 45 minutes later we were on our way to school.

One of the teachers had been freaking because I wasn't there at 7:30 and she needed me. She was surprised that I wasn't upset over the dead battery thing and that I was laughing about it. Good grief, it really wasn't a big deal. Nobody dead, nobody hurt, no damage done, just a little late to school/work.

Lucky I'm blessed with a funmeter that's easily pegged.
